This week our team at Digital LunchBox captured footage of Branson, Missouri’s famous Veterans Homecoming festivities for the Branson/Lakes Area CVB.  I have to admit, I have a soft spot for WWII veterans as both of my grandfathers were European and Pacific theater vets, respectively.  And I think I can speak for the team when I say that all of us at DLB have fond memories for our alma mater The College of the Ozarks.  So when the Branson CVB sent us to the college to capture the dedication of their new Veterans Grove Plaza, I was hopeful that I would have a chance to grab a few “bonus” stills with our Canon 5D Mark II camera.

We specialize in HD video and film production.  So I shot video of the dedication ceremony and interviews with WWII Veterans – fairly standard stuff.  However, before I left the campus I thought I would take one last look at Veterans Grove, just to see if I could grab some nice sunset shots of the flag-decorated trees and memorial stones.  As I was shooting video of the plaza (and nearly ready to leave), two young ladies from the college began setting out votive candles in front of each tree.  MAGIC.

Happy Veterans Day to our friends and family at home and abroad.
